An important part of the AGM is the election of committee members. These are the people who manage your association’s activities and, generally, “get things done”. Fresh ideas, additional expertise and enthusiasm for pursuing the ideals of your association are vital. Please do not assume that all current members will be re-nominating for the committee. We welcome new nominations!

This year the AGM will start at 2pm with afternoon tea. We will commence our AGM at 2.30pm as per the Agenda.

Following the AGM your committee would be pleased if you would join them for a talk by Dr Pol Dalmau at 4.00pm (live via Zoom from Barcelona). He will present ‘Fresh Insights into the Marquis de Rays’ Colony and the New Italy Settlers’. Dr Pol Dalmau is a History professor, from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and a very special friend to New Italy Museum. Many will recall Dr Pol Dalmau’s informative talk at New Italy Hall, on 9 October 2022. His research added another chapter to the New Italy story encompassing the time when hundreds of hopeful Italian emigrants assembled in Barcelona waiting to embark for an island paradise in the South Pacific. His latest research looks further into the Marquis de Rays colony and his part in the New Italy story.

Looking forward to your attendance on Sunday 2 November.

Yours Sincerely
