Building Historic New Italy: From Forest to Museum

Much of the material used to make this site was obtained locally. One of the many stories is od Spencer Spinaze and Merry Bertoli felling local ti trees for the rafters of this museum building. Imagine hauling logs across the Pacific Highway!

Spencer heartily agreed with Merv’s complaint that, ‘a man would want a blood transfusion after today with all the mosquitoes and sand flies.”
